Közeledünk a transzplantációs műtét harmadik évfordulójához. Olivér már több mint három éve él együtt az új szervekkel – küzd, harcol és alkalmazkodik a mindennapi kihívásokhoz. Édesanyja, Emese rendszeresen beszámol a közösségi oldalakon a legfrissebb eredményekről, a kezelésekről és azokról a hullámvölgyekről, amelyeken keresztülmennek. Bár a kórházi napok és az infúziók továbbra is az életük részei, az utóbbi időszak biztató eredményei és az itthoni, közösségi élet új reményt adnak a családnak. Az elmúlt időszak eseményei így követték egymást az eddigi küzdelmeink folytatásaként, az édesanya beszámolói alapján:
2025. március végén még elszántan harcoltunk a BK vírussal, nem tudva, meddig tart még ez a küzdelem. Márciusban megálltunk egy pillanatra, hogy pihenjünk, erőt gyűjtsünk és újra levegőt vegyünk.
Júniusban, a transzplantáció második évfordulóján biopsziával és endoszkópos vizsgálattal „ünnepeltünk”. A vírus szintje ekkor 3.5 körül mozgott, de sajnos megjelentek az antitestek is.
Szeptemberben, sok gondolkodás és orvosi egyeztetés után, végül hazaköltöztünk Romániába és most itthon próbálunk harcolni mindennel, ami elénk kerül. Kéthetente járunk immunoglobulin-infúzióra, ezek alkalmával mindig bent kell maradnunk éjszakára a kórházban.
Szeptember végén megérkezett a jó hír: sikerült egy szállítót találni, aki vállalta, hogy a vérmintákat Lyonba szállítja, és a vírus értéke nem növekedett! Olivér nagyon boldog, hogy újra iskolába járhat, gyerekek között lehet. Ez most hatalmas lépés neki és nekünk is.
Decemberben Lyonban voltunk kontrollvizsgálaton, ahol megnyugtató híreket kaptunk: az eredmények stabilak maradtak, így a következő találkozót 2026 márciusára tűzték ki.
2026. márciusában, a harmadik évforduló küszöbén és az ötödik osztály végén állva, kimondhatatlanul hálásak vagyunk minden egyes eltelt napért. A vírus szintje lassan, de végre biztosan csökkenő tendenciát mutat! Ennek a nagyszerű hírnek köszönhetően az az orvosi döntés született, hogy az eddigi kétheti rendszeresség helyett ezentúl elég havonta egyszer immunoglobulin-infúzióra járnunk.
Július végén elérkezett a nagy, éves kontrollvizsgálatunk Lyonban. Egy rendkívül sűrű és nehéz héten vagyunk túl: hétfőn ultrahanggal indítottunk, és Olivér megtanulta, hogyan katéterezze meg saját magát, ha egyszer szükség lesz rá. Elmondhatatlanul büszke vagyok a bátorságára! Kedden a sok vérvétel után az altatóorvossal egyeztettünk, csütörtökön pedig az endoszkópos vizsgálaton is túl estünk. Most először a műtét napján már haza is jöhettünk a kórházból.
Most, szeptemberben az eddigi részeredményeink abszolút megnyugtatóak, minden stabil. A következő kontroll várhatóan késő ősszel lesz és ha az eredmények továbbra is jók maradnak, megkaptuk az ígéretet, hogy utána talán már csak félévente kell majd visszajárnunk Lyonba. Ne apropiem de a treia aniversare a transplantului. Olivér trăiește deja de mai bine de trei ani cu noile organe, luptă, se adaptează și înfruntă provocările de zi cu zi. Mama sa, Emese, scrie frecvent pe rețelele de socializare despre cele mai recente rezultate, tratamente și momentele dificile prin care trec. Deși zilele petrecute în spital și perfuziile fac în continuare parte din viața lor, rezultatele încurajatoare din ultima perioadă și viața socială de acasă oferă familiei o nouă speranță. Iată cum au evoluat evenimentele în ultima perioadă, ca o continuare a luptei de până acum, pe baza relatărilor mamei:
La sfârșitul lui martie 2025, continuăm să luptăm cu virusul BK, fără să știm pentru cât timp... În martie ne-am oprit pentru o clipă, poate că nici nu am avut altă opțiune. Să ne odihnim, să ne adunăm puterile, să respirăm din nou.
În iunie, la a doua aniversare a transplantului, am „sărbătorit” cu o biopsie și o investigație endoscopică. Nivelul virusului era în jur de 3.5 atunci, dar, din păcate, au apărut anticorpii.
În septembrie, după multe gânduri și consultări medicale, ne-am mutat în sfârșit înapoi acasă, în România, iar acum încercăm să luptăm de acasă cu tot ce ne iese în cale. Mergem la fiecare două săptămâni pentru perfuzii cu imunoglobulină, iar cu aceste ocazii trebuie să rămânem mereu internați peste noapte.
La sfârșitul lui septembrie a sosit vestea bună: am reușit să găsim un transportator care s-a oferit să ducă probele de sânge la Lyon – iar valoarea virusului nu a crescut! Olivér este foarte fericit că poate merge din nou la școală, că poate fi printre copii, în comunitate. Acesta este un pas uriaș pentru el și pentru noi.
În decembrie am fost la Lyon pentru un control, unde am primit vești liniștitoare: rezultatele au rămas stabile, așa că următoarea întâlnire a fost stabilită pentru martie 2026.
În martie 2026, aflați în pragul celei de-a treia aniversări și la sfârșitul clasei a cincea, suntem extrem de recunoscători pentru fiecare zi care trece. Nivelul virusului arată o tendință de scădere lentă, dar în sfârșit sigură! Datorită acestei vești minunate, s-a luat decizia medicală ca, în loc de frecvența de două săptămâni de până acum, să mergem la perfuzia cu imunoglobulină doar o dată pe lună.
La sfârșitul lui iulie, a sosit momentul marelui nostru control anual la Lyon. Am trecut printr-o săptămână extrem de intensă și grea: luni am început cu o ecografie, iar Olivér a învățat cum să se autocateterizeze dacă va fi nevoie vreodată. Sunt de-a dreptul mândră de curajul lui! Marți, după multe recoltări de sânge, am discutat cu medicul anestezist, iar joi am trecut și de investigația endoscopică. Pentru prima dată, am putut pleca acasă chiar în ziua anesteziei.
Acum, în septembrie, rezultatele parțiale sunt absolut liniștitoare, totul este stabil. Următorul control va avea loc probabil la sfârșitul toamnei, iar dacă rezultatele vor rămâne bune, ni s-a promis că va trebui să revenim la Lyon doar o dată la șase luni. Inima îmi este plină de recunoștință pentru fiecare pas mic!

We are approaching the third anniversary of the transplant surgery. For more than three years, Olivér has been living with his new organs, fighting, adapting, and facing daily challenges. His mother, Emese, frequently shares updates on social media about their latest results, treatments and the hurdles they overcome. Although hospital stays and infusions remain a part of their lives, recent encouraging results and their community life back home bring new hope to the family. Here is how the recent period unfolded, continuing the journey of their struggles, based on his mother's updates:
At the end of March 2025, we were still battling the BK virus, not knowing for how long... In March, we paused for a moment, perhaps we had no other choice. To rest, to gather strength, to breathe again.
In June, we "celebrated" the second anniversary of the transplant with a biopsy and an endoscopic examination. The virus level was floating around 3.5 at that time, but unfortunately, antibodies appeared.
In September, after a lot of thinking and medical consultation, we finally moved back home to Romania and now we are trying to fight from home against everything that comes our way. We go every two weeks for immunoglobulin infusions and on these occasions we always have to stay overnight at the hospital.
At the end of September, the good news arrived: we managed to find a courier who agreed to transport the blood samples to Lyon and the virus level did not increase! Olivér is very happy to be back at school and to be among other children in the community. This is a huge step for him and for us too.
In December, we went to Lyon for a check-up, where we received reassuring news: the results remained stable, so the next appointment was scheduled for March 2026.
In March 2026, standing on the threshold of the third anniversary and at the end of the fifth grade, we are indescribably grateful for every single day that passes. The virus level is showing a slow but finally sure downward trend! Thanks to this great news, a medical decision was made that from now on, instead of the previous bi-weekly schedule, it is enough to go for the immunoglobulin infusion once a month.
At the end of July, the time came for our major annual check-up in Lyon. It was an incredibly busy and difficult week: on Monday, we started with an ultrasound, and Olivér learned how to catheterize himself if needed in the future. I am beyond proud of his bravery! On Tuesday, after many blood draws, we met with the anesthesiologist and on Thursday, we completed the endoscopic examination. For the first time, we were allowed to leave the hospital on the very day of the anesthesia.
Now, in September, our partial results so far are completely reassuring; everything is stable. The next check-up is expected in late autumn, and if the results remain stable, we were promised that we might only need to return to Lyon every six months. My heart is full of gratitude for every single small step!
